A calendar plugin is necessary for any growing company in order to have a visual way of tracking events and avoiding confusion.

It’s also critical that your calendar plugin includes important information such as the event time and date, how many people are involved, what equipment will be needed, who needs to be present, staff required, and other relevant logistics.

There are many great WordPress calendar plugins available to help you schedule your workflow and allow your clients to book appointments easily.

1. HubSpot Meetings

Although HubSpot Meetings integrates with WordPress through the HubSpot WordPress plugin, it is still a standalone meeting scheduler.

The free version of the software lets you create a meeting link that includes your calendar and availability, while the paid version lets you embed a calendar on any website.

You can change the form that users have to fill out, the dates and times they can plan meetings, and how soon the participant will be told of the event after they sign up.

When attendees finish filling out the form for the meeting, they can be forwarded to a specific landing page.

The biggest advantage of this tool is that it feeds data and meetings into a free CRM, so you don’t have to worry about combining information from various sources. When you have to juggle many tasks, that level of organization and hassle-free integration is a major productivity booster.

2. Stachethemes Event Calendar

The Stachethemes Event Calendar is a mobile-friendly calendar that integrates with WooCommerce. All features are managed from a single page on the back end.

The integration mentioned in the text allows users to sell tickets or merchandise for their events directly from the calendar widget, with options for setting up recurring payments so that participants can attend multiple meetings without needing to pay each time.

Some of the other features of this software include the ability to quickly update it as well as the ability for customers to book appointments directly based on the availability of your team.

Because events are easy to share on social media networks, the calendar on WordPress works well for multiple websites.

The options for booking events are integrated with WooCommerce, iCal, and ICS, and there are six different types of calendar views available. You can customize every calendar with colors, fonts, and preset designs to create a look that suits you.

3. Modern Events Calendar

The main advantage of the Modern Events Calendar plugin is that it works well and looks good without needing a lot of customization. However, if you need an advanced ticketing support system, this plugin may not be the best option.

The plugin provides various ways of viewing your events, including a list view, a calendar view, and a countdown feature. The free version allows customers to book events directly in your calendar, for both single and recurring events, with no limit on how far in the future the events can be.

The party doesn’t have to end just because the sun went down. If you want to, you can keep the party going all night.

The Pro version of this software provides weather updates, embedded maps, and localized time zones.

This plugin can also be used with Stripe and PayPal in case you need to receive payment from your customers before an event.

4. The Events Calendar

The Events Calendar plugin makes planning large events much easier by displaying them in SEO-friendly microformats. This eliminates the need to click on the event in the calendar view, making it much more convenient.

This plugin allows you to share your events with other people or platforms.

This calendar is compatible with iCal, Google Maps, and Google Calendar and is easy to search for events on a mobile device.

This calendar is designed for venues that host events on a regular basis, such as bookstores, concert halls, cafes, and other public gathering places.

The plugin also provides performers or artists on tour with a calendar view and a list view of their events. Attendees can browse through all the events and choose the ones they’re most interested in.

5. All-in-One Events Calendar

All-in-One Event Calendar is perfect for people who want to start or grow their event-related business. With its ability to reach a large audience, it is ideal for freelancers and entrepreneurs.

The app offers various ways to view your calendar including by event, day, week, or month. You can easily filter what you see in each view.

After you fill out the initial form on the backend, the plugin creates an event on your calendar.

You can include a lot of information in events, like dates, times, locations, tags, categories, and contact info. You can also add things like images, videos, tables, documents, and meeting links. Plus, you can color-code your events so you can keep track of when they’re happening and what campaign they’re a part of.

This plugin integrates with Outlook, iCal, and Google Calendar. There is also a Google Maps integration that allows users to see exactly where an event is being held.

This plugin is designed to help your web pages and events rank higher on search engines. The plugin is responsive and SEO-optimized.

6. EventON

The EventON WordPress plugin gives you the ability to create calendar events by allowing you to select the address, time, and date of all your company events.

EventOn is an excellent option for promoting parties, functions, meetings, classes, and more because it is simple, easy to use, and can be installed to match the colors of your site.

Not only can photos be added to events, but Google Maps as well, so that participants have a visual of what the event will look and be located.

EventON provides different time views, allowing you to promote events on a daily or monthly basis.

If you want to sell tickets to your event, you can use the WooCommerce plugin to sell tickets. The calendar is searchable, so you should be able to find your event easily.

7. Sugar Calendar

Sugar Calendar is a WordPress events calendar plugin from Sandhills Development. They also made other popular plugins like Easy Digital Downloads (EDD), AffiliateWP, and Restrict Content Pro (though they recently sold RCP to iThemes).

Sugar Calendar is a great solution because it has clean, extensible code and does not have any unnecessary features.

One thing to note about Sugar Calendar is that it is much simpler than other options on the list. However, it still provides most of the important features you need, especially with the premium version/add-ons.

You can quickly spin up events by adding just a few details. When adding event content, you have the option to choose either the new block editor or the classic TinyMCE editor:

There is a dedicated page for each event on the front-end of your website. You can add and customize calendars using a shortcode and various parameters.

The styling of this content will come from your theme. For more changes, you will need to use custom CSS (Sugar Calendar does not have its own styling features).

For more advanced features, there are also some really useful premium extensions:

  • Recurring Events – set up automatically recurring events.
  • Event ticketing – sell tickets via a built-in Stripe payment feature or a WooCommerce integration. You can also manage tickets and attendees from your dashboard.
  • Calendar feeds – you, or visitors, can sync your calendars/events to iCal, Google Calendar, and some other calendar systems.
  • Front-end event submissions – let users submit events from the front-end using your favorite form plugin.
  • Event URLs – add external URLs to your events (e.g. a Zoom meeting link). There’s also an option to automatically redirect an event’s page to the external URL.

There are also some free integrations available for Google Maps, Gravity Forms, Ninja Forms, and WP All Import.

8. Events Manager

Although Events Calendar is the most popular WordPress plugin, Events Manager has over 100,000 active users and is ranked second.

: Events Manager has some features that are unique and not found in The Events Calendar. These features include:

  • Dedicated BuddyPress integration
  • Recurring and multi-day events (even in the free version)
  • Custom event attributes to let you add additional structured information
  • Location view (even in the free version)
  • Bookings/registration (without the need for an add-on)

Similar to The Events Calendar, Events Manager is pretty easy to get started. You can configure the plugin’s various settings in one big interface, and then start adding events and locations.

You can choose to display your events in a search box, a calendar view, or both.

The default styling of Event Manager is not as attractive as The Event Calendar on the Twenty Seventeen theme.

9. Event Organiser

Event Organiser is a free WordPress plugin that lets you easily create and manage events on your website. It’s listed at WordPress.org.

The plugin allows you to create both one-time and recurring events, as well as create specific locations/venues to associate with multiple events.

These can all be found in the Event Organiser > Help > Shortcodes and Event Organiser > Help > Widgets pages. There are a variety of ways that you can display your events using Event Organiser. You can find all of the shortcodes and widgets that you need in the Event Organiser > Help > Shortcodes and Event Organiser > Help > Widgets pages.

The Add New Event interface is similar to the other plugins.

The Event Organiser plugin for WordPress provides a useful Calendar View feature from within the dashboard, allowing users to better manage their events. This is especially useful when combined with the plugin’s filtering options.

The free core plugin for Event Organiser only allows for the creation and display of events. However, Event Organiser Pro provides access to booking management and additional features.

-A developer will appreciate the Event Organiser for its many actions and filters that can be used to customise the application to individual needs.

10. Event Espresso

Event Espresso Decaf is a fork of the events plugin Event Espresso 3 (EE3). Event Espresso Decaf lacks some features from the full version of Event Espresso, but is otherwise similar. The main difference is that Event Espresso Decaf is not a commercial product.

Event Espresso 4 Decaf is the relaunched version of the former Event Espresso Lite plugin. The main difference between the two versions is that Event Espresso Decaf is not a commercial product. Event Espresso Decaf is a fork of the events plugin Event Espresso 3 (EE3) and while it lack some features of the full product, it is otherwise similar.

Event Espresso is designed primarily for event registration, rather than displaying events on a calendar.

This means it is created to help you make events that people will buy tickets for or sign up for.

If you’re not planning on using our plugin for that purpose, then another plugin would probably suit your needs better.

In addition to letting you add and manage events, here are some of the other helpful things that Event Espresso helps you do:

  • Use PayPal Express Checkout (or other payment options if you’re willing to pay)
  • Manage registrations and attendee details
  • Send automated confirmation emails
  • Use Android and Apple event apps to scan tickets and track attendance – Super cool (but the ticket scanning feature requires the paid version)

11. MotoPress Timetable and Event Schedule

This plugin is designed to help industries that rely on client bookings and mobile website traffic to effectively manage their time.

This calendar has a system that allows you to color-code and categorize different types of events, as well as shortcodes that make it easy to embed the widget onto your website.

Calendars can be customized for size, color, time zone, label, category, and more. Searches can be performed using language and filters, so users can quickly locate events.

If you want to have multiple calendars on one page, you can easily keep track of them by using the individual IDs that are assigned to each one.

This allows you to have the same appearance for each calendar on the front end, while knowing the exact location of each one on the back end.

Final Notes

That’s the end of our list of the best WordPress event plugins.

The most popular option on the list is probably The Event Calendar. Keep in mind that the free version does not have recurring events.

If you are looking for an event calendar that will look the best after installing the plugin, you might want to go with EventOn or Modern Events Calendar.

In addition to regular themes, you can also find WordPress themes specifically designed for events. These might be a better option depending on the purpose of your site.
